This document was prepared by Thermo Dynamics Ltd. in 2007. Thermo Dynamics designs, manufactures and installs solar pool heating systems.
They describe two types of solar pool heating systems — open loop and closed loop — and the flat plate collectors that are used in the system. Typically, open loop systems are for seasonal outdoor pools, while closed loop systems are used for year-round indoor pool heating. The closed loop system requires the installation of a heat exchanger and additional circulators.
This study has been produced with the support of the German Federal Ministry of Environment, Nature Conservation, and Nuclear Safety.
The document provides an overview of different renewable energy sources (wind, solar, geothermal, biomass and hydroelectricity) in the so-called MENA Region (Middle East North African Region), with regards to their current status, potential, applications used, institutional and legal framework, national targets, barriers and drivers for their further use and development.
This house in the town of Wimborne Minster in South West England is heated by a glycol-free solar thermal installation. The new system is designed to channel solar-heated water directly to specially designed waterless radiators, bypassing the thermal storage tank.

At the end of January 2010, the government of the western Indian state of Gujarat made a generous announcement: In promotion of grid-connected solar energy within the state's territory, a capacity of 716 MW of solar power is going to be distributed to 34 national and international project developers. The share of solar photovoltaics and Concentrating Solar Power (CSP) plants is said to be 365 MW and 351 MW, respectively.
